Constitution
- 1. The name of the society is the Gabriola Health Care Society (the “Society”).
- 2. The purposes of the Society are to:
- (a) assess and respond to health care needs of residents of and visitors to Gabriola Island;
- (b) work with the health professionals and relevant government agencies to develop programs that address those needs;
- (c) provide facilities to health care practitioners on Gabriola Island in a way that fosters integrated team care and accessibility wherever possible;
- (d) work in partnership with other community agencies to improve conditions affecting the health of residents of and visitors to Gabriola Island;
- (e) perform such other lawful acts as are incidental or conducive to the above purposes; and
- (f) to raise funds for the above purposes.
- 3. The operations and affairs of the Society shall be conducted without purpose of financial gain for its members. Any profits or other accretions to the Society shall be exclusively used for advancing its purposes. This provision is unalterable.
- 4. Should the Society be disbanded or dissolved, its assets remaining after payment of all debts and liabilities shall be refunded to the donors thereof or paid over and transferred to an organization having objectives similar to those of the Society, as may be directed by resolution of the members. This provision is unalterable.
