This gem of a BC gulf island located in the Strait of Georgia has it all, only a 20-minute BC Ferry ride from downtown Nanaimo, (with easy direct air link to Vancouver) yet its 5000 residents share a rural lifestyle rich in art, music, boating, hiking, gardening, and the local golf course (year round). There is excellent shopping, several churches and a public school. You would join other full time and part time physicians in a modern well-equipped community-supported clinic with hopes to arrange for family practice resident teaching. Known as “The Isle of the Arts”, Gabriola is blessed with a temperate climate, quiet beaches, forested parks, and an abundance of wildlife. Gabriola is one of the most populous of the Gulf Islands and its residents enjoy a relaxed lifestyle and strong sense of community. Recreation and relaxation opportunities are plentiful. Nanaimo has an accredited regional hospital and excellent specialist support.
Compensation Type: Fee-for-service.
MOCAP (payment for rotational on call) is available. (After-hours emergency call is a requirement of this position.)
